What is Mobile TV?
Mobile TV delivers live broadcast TV services to people "on the move" on a variety of platforms including mobile phones, portable video/MP3 players or handheld game players. By 2010, there will be 3 billion users of mobile devices. Currently Mobile TV is streamed over 3G or GPRS networks, with limited broadband. However, the upcoming DVB-H standard to be gradually implemented worldwide allows for a true broadcast transmission, like digital satellite or terrestrial TV, optimized for low battery consumption.
SDI provides a full range of Mobile TV services, including:
- Subtitling and dubbing loops for broadcast in any country
- Adapting existing subtitles for Mobile TV broadcast
- Creating loops from any media format
- Creatively video-editing visual assets and adding graphics
- Converting loops to a variety of technical specifications and media formats
- Storing loops or source assets for future use in new markets
- Creating XML playlists for aggregator/operator delivery
- WAP and SMS localization
